Just thought I'd ask the question as I'm intrigued to know how many do it this way if they can.

Just been pricing a job and the Gas and Water needs to be bonded, now ordinarily I run two separate cables to each service but it's just dawned on me that I have been wasting cable in the past, no problem as up until now I haven't been the one having to pay for it lol

I know there are some situations where the gas and water may be at opposite ends of the building but where they're not how many of you run a continuous cable from the consumer unit, to one and then the other?

:thumbsup

nothing wrong with a single cable to both gas and water as long as it's continuous. this is to stop mr. wet pants disconnecting 1 and thus disconnecting both.

If both water and gas are in close proximity to each other then why not. as stated above so long as cable is continuous then no problem. Unlike cross bonding done by british gas on pipes to combi boiler at rewir im doing. All 4mm cut in short loops no crimp lugs and loose earth straps lol not. Also save on amount of time pulling in cable, as 10mm always seems to wrap itself around anthing nearby when you start to uncoil it.

yeah, put a claw hammer in the next room and i'll guarantee the 10mm will find it's way into the claw and get stuck under the door when you're on your knees under the kitchen sink.
