Hi

I have already posted a question this morning and had great response, i forgot to mention on an install that is ready for the niceic regarding where i stand on bonding. I understand that the water and gas have to be 600mm on the consumer side however must we check when fitting a new board that all the radiators, taps, pipes etc have a 0.05 reading and if not start pulling boards up and where there is plastic joints we have to install earth cable and straps ?

The reason i ask is that the 1st job for the niceic to check , the piping is mostly been replaced with plastic all over the house. At every rad if there is plastic under the boards but copper from the boards to the rad do we have to bond this small amount of exposed copper ?

any help would be great !!

If the radiator is clear fron any part of the electrical system then No need to bond.

As the pipes are insulators then you woukld have to link all radiators and thus including them into the electrical system for no reason.

All that is required is main bonding to incoming services.
Supplementary bonding between conductive parts in a bath/shower room and metallic pipes entering the bath/shower room will also be necessary unless the 3 conditions below are met
1.All circuits within a bath/shower room 30ma rcd protected.
2.a continuity readind <1667 ohms between extraneous and conductive parts
3.Required disconnection time met for all circuits within the bath/shower room

Nothing else is required.
