Hi guys,
Basically I went to look at a job one of my electricians is doing in a flat above a restaurant.
New supply from the DNO into communal hall which leads solely to the flat.
He has put a main DB there, and from this is a sub to flat, lighting, lift and cleaners socket.

There is no pipe work in this area at all and gas and water service enter in the flat.

I just wanted a 2nd opinion on these being bonded to the flat db and not the MET??

Flat board is fed on a 10mm 3core swa.

Thanks in advance, it's been a long week lol

The Flat CU/DB earth bar will in effect be the EMT that will be connected to the MET. So it's fine to run all of the flats bonding cables to the EMT!!

Thanks E54! that was my thinking. Obviously if there was pipework there i tell them to bond it to the MET in the normal set up.

Also on the certificate they have left the Main protective bonding conductors section blank....

Im right in saying that it should be filled out no matter if it is bonded to the MET or a sub board?

Yes, you're correct.

In an ideal world they would be connected to a MET at the origin and individually marked for future identification but there's nothing wrong with connecting them to the earthing terminal in the Flat DB as the CPC to the Flat DB is suitably sized at 10mm2.
