Was asked to check main bonding at a friends house today, couple of problems which were easily sorted but they recently had a cast iron wood burner with steel flue fitted in-between the dining room and kitchen which is sat on a stone hearth - my question is should this be bonded? spoke to a part p sparky (i am not yet) and he reckons theres no need, but surely this would introduce an earth potential or am i missing something?

I absolutely promise you this isn't BS:

I nearly PML'd big time yesterday out on a construction site, and the QS had this really puzzled look on his face as to what was so funny; he'd just asked me about bonding a wood burner!!!!! :grinningelf:

(and no, it doesn't need doing).
