bootlace ferrule crimper

Hi guys.
I've seen two types of bootlace ratchet crimper.
They both look to be able to crimp same size ferrules but they look completely different.
One has a four sided square in the middle of the tool and one has jaws that clamp down at the end.
Does anybody know why there are two different types?

can I use these crimps to terminate a cable in domestic c/u so making a better connection -t/e or standed must b better than just stuffing the cble into the mcb

Double over solid core conductors where necessary for a better termination.

thanks for that, but wonderd if the crimps will do a better job, as reading about all the probs with loose conns in c/u causing fire etc, I know they use them in control panals

They use them on fine stranded cable in panels.

standard insulated crimps should not be used on solid core cable.
