that is bad practice in my opinion, if this method is to be employed then both circuits must share same mcb for isolation purposes.

I found the problem during just changing the light switch for new shiny metal one, I had to leave it as it was, as I have not left it in a unsafer state than what it was, I am going back to carry out more work, non-electrical, and will have a good chat with client, he does seem reasonable, but I will have to go and count his light loads on both circuits then decide what to do, both circuits as I Remember are on 6A mcbs 1.5 cable.
he had a new cu fitted within last two years, but of course no paperwork, so no tracability.
nice new kitchen also with lots of downlighters so that will add up.
No one knows of a unknown way of 2way switching with just two wires? Lol
