I'm trying to install a spur off an existing lighting circuit.
I thought I would be able to replace a single switch with a double and use the new switch for the spur.
However the builder hasn't brought the Neutral down to the switch, it's up in the ceiling and I can't access it, the floor above is tiled.
I've seen references to "borrowed neutral" and I can probably pick up a neutral from a ring circuit used for tumble drier/washing machine
Is this allowed and will there be any problems back at the fuse box??
Alternatively are there any "trick of the trade" that will sort out this problem??

Many thanks

Why would the builder be doing the wiring.

go away....

If you've got access to the ring, then spur off that! All the threads you've read about borrowed neutrals: what is the on-going theme and conclusion to them?

This has to be a wind-up, right?
