These look cheap anyone tried them

Look at this on eBay:

Wall Chaser & Box Sinker all in one/ SDS+ Masonry Hole Cutting & Chasing

For sinking boxes I have a few bits of kit/methods.
I have one of the Armeg rotary hammer type sinkers (ok on block and soft brick) and an EBS hard chisel, decent bits of kit, pretty quick, quite messy though. I've never used the large armeg square chisels but by all accounts they are crap.
I bought one of these of ebay the other day:
(Box Sinker/ electrical Back Box Sinking sds+ shaft/ masonry Square Hole Cutter | eBay) It's another sinker but it works on rotary stop, cuts a single box, slower than the rotary type but lots neater, good on block, ok on soft brick, I used my EBS chisel to help speed it up in brick. Works of 8mm holes rather than 6mm (Brown plugs instead of red)
I wouldn't bother trying either on blue/engineering brick.
I also have an armeg SDS scutch which is a good bit of kit.
If all else fails, I always have the bolster, scutch and lump hammer in the box though!

I bought a box sinking kit a few years back and if I'm honest I wasted my money. It's fine on soft brick and block but on anything tougher it's a waste of space. You'd be better off with a scutch chisel for your SDS mate

That's very similar to one of the bits of my box sinker kit although mine was a damned sight more expensive( I must have MUG tattood on my forehead). With that you need to drill a pilot hole then start with rotary stop, hammering that thing into the wall. I've also got another thing like a very wide, shallow drill bit that takes the centre of the material I want removed out. That makes it easier for the bit you linked to to work

Hah!! ......... I made the same mistake buying a box sinking kit (Armeg) and again like you ended-up with a Scutch chisel for the SDS and another one wot I bash with a lump hammer. (or at least I used to)

Just another thought on SDS chasing tools: I also have an armeg skirting board chisel for clearing out behind skirting at the bottom of a chase, then a 400mm 12mm sds bit that I use on rotary only to drill through the floor board (lean on it a bit to not damage the skirting, don't use your best bosch ones!) I then drop a rod down and fetch the cable up.

We had one of them when I was an apprentice, I loved it, it was great for rapidly sinking boxes on new builds. That was until the shaft snapped off right by the head!
We never could find a replacement for it.
