i bought one that looks like a square cast iron hedgehog off fleabay for £20 works great in block / brick / some stone walls - didn't like Cornish granite much - just bounced off but for £20 it does save a hell of a lot of time and grief, drill 7mm hole- set sds to roto stop and and bash away- on average in block / brick about 60 - 90 seconds to do a 1 gang 25mm box and not too bad for dust, most times don't need to do any remedial work around box it cuts that clean, great investment

Jon, I can't quite picture a hedgehog making a hole in a wall  I don't suppose you have link to a picture?

here's a couple of pics, made by red band construction equipment and called a dash square hole cutter hc75 but can't find on their website and none listed on fleabay anymore

I love my erbauer box sinker, even in brick, never going back to the old method.

If its really hard brick, after you've drilled the 70mm hole or whatever it is, drill four holes, one in each corner and the sinker will easily remove the rest.

Ta da, nice square flat hole without the need for filler.

I use the SDS on roto stop and a Bosch spade chisel (dont be tempted to buy a cheaper version as they just snap) for boxes and chases although this has now been superseeded buy A Heller brick removal tool from Toolstation. I initially bought this for removing a chimney breast at home but is GREAT for boxes and chases.

Anyone used the armeg sds plus scutch holder ? Just looking for any feedback before I purchase.

Yes ........ the scutch comb slides & twists about inside the holder. The whole thing needs a complete re-design imo

Cheers Geordie, might have just saved me 30 odd quid there. The scutch based "hedgehog" device earlier in the thread looks interesting for the price. Might give one of those a try.
