Just had a wonder round the local German Christmas market in Bristol and took the attached pics. The stalls all seem to have european sockets and I saw issues such as in the pictures...

If you think THAT'S bad....go to a few European exhibition halls!
 
Unless you want to have to buy a very big warehouse and stack it high with miles and miles of H07 on 16A ceeform and rubber box distro's, you're best off out of it! Yes, there's good money to be had, but the upfront costs of servicing it are enormous.

I toyed with moving from a freelance 'tech' into a one-stop-solution business and just decided it wasn't worth the risk. I can't remember the exact figures now but it was something like £60-70k in rental stock just to be able to service one decent size event - and that's after you've gone insane sat in a warehouse making 10m cables up for days on end. The payback period was too loooong unless you were also going to invest a massive sum on marketing, in which case you run the risk of being too thin and needing more stock.....
