BS3871 and BS5419

Hi guys,

What is the short-circuit capacity for a 16A type 1 BS3871 circuit breaker?

Also, what is the voltage rating for an old BS5419 two pole main switch 100A rated?

I am doing a PIR and can`t find an answer to these questions.

Has the breaker not got it printed on it ? the wylex ones have , together with an M rating followed by a number which is its Ka rating

A bs 5419 is rated at 240 volt

No, the only thing what is there is 100A and Crabtree.

There should be an M number on the MCB

M1 1000A
M1.5 1500A
M3 3000A
M4.5 4500A
M6 6000A
M9 9000A

I was no M marking or anything else on the front of the breakers. Maybe it is on the side or something like that?

Yep. on the wylex it is on the siide, or come to think of it , it may be the back.....these are the plug in variety by the way, == you say yours are crabtree, have you tried their website

i have these and mine are M6 so 6kA and it does say it on the side mine crabtree sb6000 bs3871 type 1 and are 240v single phase and 240/415v 3ph i think my main switch 240v but not sure mate without stripping it down
