Still the new colour will add a bit of colour to the book shelf.
How many different colours did they use for the 16th again?

oh here we go again , i just cant understand why they just dont use their heads and think before they issue the regs im sure they must have the bumbling brains from thunder birds writing the things

To my knowledge it was yellow, blue and brown.

I have a yellow copy and a brown copy.
I also have a yellow OSG and somehow, 4 x brown OSG's?? I must have been a tea leaf at some point?

The green is a deviation from the norm here but as both the 15th and the 16th used 5 lovely colours it would seem that we will have 3 more soon to follow.

I think like the others once you get the 17th I don't think you will be required to update your 2382, I did the 16th the mid 90's and never had to do the 2381-2001. All it will mean is that on the 18th you will need to do a full 6 day course as that one will include just about everything, and 6 days will cost more.

As the 15th lasted 10 years and the 16th well over 15 years gladly I'll be well out of reach for the 18th.

If you go to the IET web site and download the Autumn 2010 Edition of Wiring Matters, there is information in there as to what the AMD will have in it...

The colour and the price are just wrong!!! Surely they could drop the price, doesn't cost that much to print them...

Dick Turpin resurrected!!

No it doesnt cost that much to print them its just they have to pay the numptys that keep changing thier minds

what's the score with going back to college for the amendments, will we have to?

i started the 4 day 17th edition course on monday, do my fire alarm and em lighting next monday/tuesday and pat testing on wednesday.

i did a full apprenticeship and have been out of my time for 3 years but only just gone in for my 17th as i was made redundant, has this just been a waste of time?

No you should be fine normally only have to go back when they change the edition so next time it will be the 18th hope fully unless some numpty wants to make even more money out of us and insist we do a course on the updates

Only information on what was proposed prior to the end of the consultation period... There is no guarantee that these will be included in BS 7671:2008 as amended to 2011. That was simply a Draft for Public Comment. It will be different to the final edition.

Personally I hope they retain the name IEE Wiring Regulations instead of the proposed IET Wiring Regulations.

Thank god for that, wouldn't suprise me tho, seems like everybodys out to take our hard earned cash (claiming it will stop cowboys and give us more work) oh well if ya can't smile...
