Buck or boost for car lift

I'm looking for help on fixing a car lift for a customer. He bought a used lift that calls for 30 amps at 230 volts but his building only has 120/208 voltage. Should he have the motor changed out or should I boost the voltage somehow? And what would I need.

the possiblety if you can not find the correct motor then the motor can be rewind to the correct volt .

Believe it or not it will run at 208vac I do air Conditioners and I’ve never had a problem

Really? It keep blowing the fuse and it makes a really bad sound when running. Could be from the weight of the car.I was always under the impression that you need to be within +/- 5% if the voltage. You could be right. Thanks for the reply

call your local parts house and order a 208/120vac to 240/120 transformer you will need a 10 KVA transformer single phase which is good for 42 amps

Since it’s a 3 phase you will need a 15 KVA 3 phase transformer 208/120 to 240/120 y connection

I’m proud of you and not a bad price and when I done the math on the transformer it is good for 42 amps good luck and your welcome

It's only a week old, last reply was on the 4th.

I just wasn't convinced that it was good advice to just run it on the incorrect voltage without any further worries or checks.

I agree and I’m not perfect but I have wired split systems HVAC rated for 240vac single phase at Cargill foods with 208vac single phase and the unit is still running 4 years later. I know I make mistakes but I thought that thread was over
