Now all that is needed is for the news to filter out to all the BCOs. I'd give it a couple of years.

Still trying to persuade NICEIC that they should put out a press release about this. But they seem strangely reluctant.

Confirmation on it's way from NICEIC BUT - WAIT FOR IT - LABC don't seem to have had the same view of the meeting and are still querying it. I've seen the document from NICEIC clarifying that we're covered, it will be available shortly for NICEIC members and it provides all the clarification I need - I don't think LABC will ever be satisfied, perhaps they need to justify their jobs .....

I've been thinking - I allocate a cost for a structural engineer to assess the structure of the roof - he provides the report - BC without the same educational background or insurance are challenging it and asking for more money. Why don't I cut out the expert and just pay BC? Admittedly the service to the customer isn't as good but it's less hassle for me - I don't need to bother with measurements, photos, waiting for visits and reports - 48hr Building Notice would do it and Bob's your uncle!

Of course if the BCO's don't know what they are doing and can't make a decision and then suggest that we get a structural engineer in - then surely they are confirming that what we're doing in the first place is appropriate.

Any thoughts .......
