Hi Guys.
I just joined niceic domestic Installer scheme. Now I want to notify building control about the job I did few weeks ago. I used elecraform's certification software to creat my first EIC. My question is; do I need to do another certificate using NICEIC software to notify building control? It is asking for "Relevant Certificate Number". My second question is if I can use third partys "Period Inspection and test labels" as niceic's are very ex[pensive. Thanks in advance.

Use same cert number...
Use what ever label you find most cost effective.
Have your own printed .... I paid £40 for 250 in a local print works

To add to the above, the certificate number can be anything you like, it just has to match what you have on the electroform or whoever's blank/template you used. For example, my certificates are "EIC 21001", "EIC 21002" where the 21 indicates the year and the 001 is just incremented per job.

I tend to use the inspection & test labels that come with a consumer unit, assuming I install one. If not, then I have some bought ones (from eBay, if I recall).

By the way, congratulations! I guess that means your assessment went ok then.
A short term fix on labels is ebay - search "electrical labels" there are hundreds to choose from at reasonable prices.

Do I need to upload certificate when notifying building control? As I will be notifying through niceic, they both need to have record of that certificate. As a domestic Installer what colour certificates I am supposed to use? Thanks

No need to upload anything.
Just ignore everything on the NICEIC portal other than the bit for notifications.
The colour of the certificates only matters if you use NICEIC certificates.

I think you'll be disappointed how under-whelming the process of notification is...!
I can't speak for NICEIC, but in my scheme essentially it comes down to a date, a certificate number, an address, a VERY loosely defined description of the work, and hitting Submit.
No certificate uploaded, but of course the customer must get one and you should retain it. You might be asked for it on a future assessment.
I'd imagine the colours relate to NICEIC's own certificates? As you are using other tool it doesn't matter.
