Hi guys I've just taken over a new housing job and the spark that was there before me has fitted a double socket and spur directly behind a sink in the utility, I know the building reg states that a double socket can't be fitted within 300mm of the basin of the sink but is this the same reg for the switched spur or a multi gang switch, thanks

I do not think there are any specific regulations regarding sockets (or fused spurs) and sinks (so long as the sink is not in a bathroom), however any item installed has to be suitable for it's location and the external influences.
I think Amp David has it right!
I would say not really suitable for such a location, but that woud lbe up to the installing sparks assessment.

Is it possible for these electrical fittings to be splashed with water when the sink is being used?
