Discuss C&g 2365 Thompson Training in the Electrician Courses : Electrical Quals area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hi Payney. I changed your thread title to include 'Thompson Training' in the hope the forum software would give similar threads below (scroll down to bottom of this page to where it says 'similar threads'). It appears someone else was asking about Thompson Training a couple of weeks ago but not much by way of info or opinions were forthcoming I'm afraid.

Hi Payney.

I started a thread asking the same thing but not much advice.

I went and signed up for the level 2 anyway and so far I have started the first module, 'elf n safety. My experience so far is good. You can contact them by phone and email and you get a load of reading material for each module via Dropbox. You read through it and fill in a shed load of questions about what you've read and send it back to them to show your understanding.

They put on practical days throughout the year to assess you too but I've not done those yet. I might see you there if you sign up.

Thier system works well for me as I'm on site all week and couldn't comit to time of at college. I just plan to get through the modules as fast as possible and then transfer to the 2357 NVQ to do my portfolio at the end. That way I'm only loosing time of work at the NVQ stage.

Well im not sure what you want.. Never used THOMPSON TRAINING

As for the course, i did C&G 2330 version, so units will over mix and just get the Text books and read them
There isnt that much help one can give you

What INFORMATION do you guys want!! <yes im a bit upset because i did try and set out what course you needed to do>
did suggest 2365 Level 2 .. 2365 Level 3 .. 17th Edition .. Bridge Unit for 2357 .. AM2
Its up to you to READ, LEARN and PASS the EXAMS.

Hi duane.

Sorry, you did make it clear about the courses. 2365 v's 2357 etc. in the last thread and was much appreciated.

I think the OP and I where also after info on the training provider as well but no one seems to have any reviews on them. It would be good if anyone who has had experience with them could pass any reviews on, good or bad.

Hi Payney, Wes and Duane

Totally agree with you guys, the natural progression to becoming a qualified sparky would be the route Duane has recommended (2365 level 2-3, 17th edition than the 2357 and AM2). However finding a training centre that actually can fit it around our circumstances; Online for theory and training centre for practical and assessment is a lot harder than I anticipated.

If either of you guys could let me know how to get in touch with Thompson Training or another centre that could help id be truly great full.

Hi just to let you all know that i found Thompson Training very friendly and helpful through out my 2357-13 course, they're a small family run business. Steven Thompson the main Assessor comes with a vast experience and has helped me gain my 2357-13 & also more recently my 2394/95 Inspection & Testing Combo. My next step is to do the 2396-01 Design, Verification & Erection with them in near future.

Would highly recommend.

I use Thompson Training, cannot fault them as you can work at your own pace, no pressure. I distance learn and work my way through the city and guilds books and then rock up for inputs, exams and practicals as and when required. They have exam facilties in Ilford also as well as Bury so if you are down South you can arrange to take your exams there.
