I am booked on a day course as it is a clincher for a nice warm 3 month winter job. What should I expect? Is it easy? Should I do any prep in advanced?

Course is different now.

Harder exam, more questions (50) and a practical assessment consisting of three tasks.

The code of practice is being republished in November at an increased RRP of ÂŁ55 (about ÂŁ45 on Amazon)

Sounds like you may have left it a bit late to swat up. But as your doing "a course" then it (the Course) should guide you through, and Code of Practice (Rev 3 at the moment) should be provided as part of course material.

Many electricians can't PAT test.

Being a qualified electrician doesn't make you competent to do other things.

can't, or don't want to? i shouldn't imagine there's too many lads out there, who've passed there part 1 and 2, who couldn't pass 2377. does anyone fail it?

and i'm not sure what you're getting at, with your second sentence. i only commented on PAT testing.

edit: just re-read your post and i think i get what you mean. i wasn't implying that an electrician can PAT test without doing the 2377, i was just stating my point of view, which is PAT testing's not proper sparkying. just my opinion.
