Can you tell me why the heads keep shearing on your pozi screwdriver?. Sorry to be negative

And why the combi cutters go so stiff to open after 6 months lol I eat through pairs of them no amount of oil helps!, trying the knipex this time!
And hello ck!

welcome aboard, I used to really like C.K kit, don't seem to see it so much in the wholesalers these days, there is a small range from you but not like it used to be, a shame as the kit is generally decent quality.

We did open by saying we welcome comments whatever they may be! - there are a couple of reasons
1) Our new Screwdriver handle is extremely efficient in delivering torque - much more so than our old model (up to 60% more)
2) We had added grip tip features to help avoid cam-out. This was laser applied and which actually had a slight effect on the metallurgy of the tip
Our screwdrivers in this state still deliver up to 35% more torque than the ISO standard requires but the combined effect was ultimately to allow some of you to overpower them.
We have now removed the laser markings and have further increased the torque capability.
We do continue to monitor the performance and will respond positively to genuine deficiencies.
As with all things, there are design and engineering compromises - you need to ensure tight connections, so need good torque output, however, if a tip is too hard, it will resist wear better but is more brittle - too soft and it will wear quickly or twist, so our task has been to hit the best balance.
Having said all this, abuse will still break any screwdriver, so it is important you do use the right type of tip for the screw head and don't use them as levers, chisels, plasterboard punches etc etc!

And as for the stiff Combicutters, a washout with Paraffin or WD40 is much better than oil.
We go to great lengths to make sure the joint clearance is minimal for the best cutting performance.
Any ingress of muck combined with oil, will just make a sticky paste that clogs the joint.

good replies, deep down i knew i was using either wrong screwdriver for head , or squeezing till the connecors break...

i like ck stuff and i have bought numerous other 4mm flat heads and they snap easier....... keep the good work up ck...

but i do find all i ever needed replaced was the small flat heads for terminals and no-1 sells them in singles..

tbh the cutting area is fine on the combis as i only really use them for the smaller cable. i have the bigger pair for anything bigger than 1.5 or 2.5 the speed the two stripping holes makes to 2nd fixing is great. i did have an old pair that my ex gaffer nicely blue a hole in like them before but not quite as good :D
