I don't think the C rating is going to be as bad as what people expect.

I think PV is going to be very closely linked to the Green Deal.

We shouldn't be thinking 'No way that house will be a C or above'.

Got to think about the extra work that can be done 'at no upfront cost' to the customer to get them up to a C to get the best rate on the PV.

Time to start networking with other companies in your areas that will already offer these services.

not worth the hassle to be honest. I'm better off going off to do something else!
The margins won't be there to justify all the additional work required.
It's going back to what they had under the grants scheme where you needed so much extra work to get your house compliant it put people off. How many solar systems did you see before April 2010? The fact most of those things get done in the end anyway is irrelevant, it will put people off anyway.
I think the greendeal is fundamentally floored anyway. And what about the houses that will never achieve a C?
It's a ridiculous idea, pure and simple

I'm staying positive- I was in this a long time before the FITS and I'll still be here in the future.

PV has taken over in the past year.

I'm actually looking forward to being able to sell other things.

Imagine - customer needs cavity wall - lets work with Mark group and pass it to them, cos they won't nick your solar lead will they .....

I've been in the energy industry fro over 20 years, the last 17 in energy efficiency and renewables.

C rating = solar industry RIP :nonod:

Can't you just hear the excuses now for not hitting their target.

They'll not be in power then anyway. And the Labour minister will then blame it all on "the last government".

I'm getting very worried about Barker's FITs plans. I reckon he has something shocking in store for us.

Hence why I said to network locally leave the Mark Group with Tesco.

If we don't fight for our fair share, we won't get it

Have you any idea how much it costs to set up a cavity installation firm? That's why they've all been eaten up by the big guys. Smal insulation firms that don't do solar are rarer than hens teeth. The insulation industry are predicting that green deal will deliver a 50% drop in their workload - guess what type of business those unemployed fitters could be trained up to do ......

We're doomed ......................... that made me smile. Feel better now :-)

Men in white coats coming soon ....
