So, just had a guy from an insurance company come round to do safety survey. He reckons that a fuse board cover, screws lost. Now held on with self tappers, that is perfectly secure is a C2?

Can anyone point me to the relevant regulation ?

if it's safe and secure, then no code. ask the muppet to show you the reg. that says it's a fault.

Or why not take a tap & dwang with a 3.5mm tap fitted to it redo the thread and "bung" a 3.5mm screw in it .

Time taken as long as it has taken me to reply to this thread )

quite possibly , although its all a bit vague finding these regs , they should be signposted if you ask me.

It's a pity there aren't defined by a Brtitish Standard and kept together in one place so everyone could look them up.
They could even colour code the place they are kept in.

Happened once to me, got a phone call after an install, "there are a couple of choc boxes extending the disco lighting flex" apparently the publican had left his disco lights up after a 70,s night and this clown spotted it, I politely told him I dont give a rats arse, as did the publican,is this a common thing for insurance wallies now as it hasnt happened before this year

There won't be a reg for it because it not a devastation. Only if screw are missing or the screws fitted do not hold the cover on securely would i give it a code 2.

Ask your man who said it was a code 2 to find the reg, that should keep him busy for a couple of days !!

Is this guy even an electrician, what else has he put as wrong coding then

Remember the traffic warden syndrome plain mild mannered man during the night and at weekend give him some power over other people and all of a sudden he is the master of the universe who dictates how people should live and has I said a 3.5mm tap and screw
