existing dwelling , rewired 6 month ago no rcd protection for any of house , just 100a isolator main switch and type B breakers.

no records available ,charts or anything atall , taking clients word for it that it was rewired (6 month ago) all new cabling etc

im testing it as a EICR not EIC or even signing the job off

i think a code c2 as its been done recently , otherwise old installations no rcd c3

what you think

Im guessing theres a main switch alongside the 60898's lol.

C2 or change the 60898's to 61009's for me.

Obviouslly not a sparks doing that CU change, who rewires now without a 17th ed dual board or rcbo's.

How come you've been invited to do an inspection so quickly after the initial rewire?

letting agent has just took it on and the do eicr on every new property

YES lol

Yes it should have been installed to 17th edition, ie all rcd protected, split load or RCBOs to minimise disruption from tripping, but having no rcd protection doesn't introduce any danger - remember pre 16th edition there was no requirement for an rcd at all (except with TT which is why I asked what earthing type it is). A C2 would be used for a potential but not immediate danger, such as class 1 light fittings but no earth - perfectly safe until there's a fault.

No evidence of sparks doing the board change. Could be ranging from anything from ok - abortion.

I'd C2 it personally. Can understand why people saying C3 because there isn't an obvious danger present.

But, like i said anything after 30th June 08 should be installed to 17th - this hasn't been.

Change the breakers to RCBO's if possible (depending on depth of pockets on client obviouslly), and providing the tests come out adequate then it shouldn't be too difficult.

Ordinarily I would code it a 3 had it been a much older install but I'm agreeing with glasgospark on this one and would give it a c2 just because of the cheek of it!
