Someone remarked to me today that surface clipped cables, i.e t&e require protection of conduit or similar. Never heard that one???? if this is correct please could anyone quote a regs no.If this is correct does this apply internally and externally.

I can just see all the conduit being put round the flexes to appliances as well!
Have to go back to all the lofts I have ever seen and put the cables in conduit!

Protection may well be advised if it is likely to be subject to damage but it is not required.

In domestic situations I use trunking if the cable is accessible or visible, such as in airing cupboards etc., mainly cos it just looks neater, but otherwise, method C it is!

Ask him to explain to you, how does one protect surface clipped cables with conduit?? You sure this wasn't a Plumbers Foreman or one of those Site Agent type chappies?? lol!!

You didn't say what type of work installations your working on here. Perhaps surface clipped T&E isn't in the projects specifications, in which case, you would be in the wrong to install clipped direct cables!! ...lol!!
