I use the original spoola for small drums of T+E, FP200 etc . Then the Thorsman one for armored drums it's a bit weighty to throw around on a rewire
I have the drums on the floor kick the drum away and pull it back at the same time. All about the technique.
Thorsman cable stick.....awesome piece of kit.
don`t even go there lenny, i broke my finger on one at 6 in the morning it snapped open the wrong way and used my finger as a buffer. strapped it up for the day and went to the hospital after i had finished for the day. CRACKING piece of kit though

Are you sure you weren't trying to use a Maclaren Buggy
i would use either a stand made from conduit (scrap bits and 2 angle boxes )
