what cable would be best for a 11.4kw cooker 16 meters long under floor boards and in the wall.

I have some fp200 in 1.5 going cheap?

What do you think?

as mentioned previously........................

10A + 30% 0f remainder ( 12A ) = 22A with diversity. if socket outlet incorporated add 5A. still OK.

hi mate
is there insulation under floorboards and are you clipping direct to brick and plastering over
Ib is your load is 49.56A before diversity applied once diversity applied then 24.86A plus 5 amp if socket outlet incorporated in the control unit which has to be less than
In so a 50 amp cb minimum this has to be less than or equal to
Iz if no insulation 10mm has a current carrying capacity of 63 amp if clipped direct
voltage drop for 10mm is 3.49V so well within the 5% max of 11.5v

but if there is insulation this will affect the current carrying capacity and a larger csa may be required only other acceptable method would be ref method b in conduit or trunking which will give a Iz of 52A max

i would bang 10 in to cover ya --- when the customers family come round for XMAS turkey they dont really want to have to call fire brigade as the cable has caught fire!
no insulation under the floor and in tube in plater.

yea with diversity it comes to 23.98 amps so would 6mm be ok and a 32amp mcb.

i was thinking of putting 10mm in but was not sure. if i was to put 10 inthen what breaker would be best.

I am taking a different veiw to the majority on this
The figure for diversity is used to give a possible realistic value of load current
6mm on a 32 or 40 amp breaker would seem to tick all the boxes that the cooker could be expected to call for
Basing the mcb rating on the maximum rating of that cooker and fitting a cable to suit is definitely covering any possibility of mcb tripping problems
But how far do you go when selecting cables and opd
11.4 KW cooker over that distance with no socket outlet would see me fitting 6.0mm

^^^^^ 6mm is already the existing cable, from what I have read you are lookiung to make work where it is not neccessary?????

You are asking REALLY basic questions with this and your last post, are you qualified to be doing this work?

Dont forget this is notifiable.
