Been using mainly the automatic CK's that are fine most things. BUT difficult to get into tight spaces.

what other good strippers are there for mainly 1.5 and 2.5's etc

Always used these.

Never used a jubilee clip when making off SWA.
I only use the automatic stripper when making off a number of SWA cables, or if the H&S bod is about.
Takes too long to set up.
What is this Pyro?

Whats the jubilee clip used for malcolm?? never ever seen one used before, is it to ensure the armoured is scored round with the hacksaw in a perfect circle ??? Just a guess from a Yung Un

I bought a set of CK side cutters with notches for stripping 1.5 ans 2.5mm² conductors.
Fine for stripping, but the side cutters were pants, not sharp at all.
Tried one of those combi strippers as above, but they have notches for different size conductors, found they were too fiddley.
I had one of those red auto strippers, looks a bit like a Dinosaur, which was fine for stripping the conductors on T&E, but they broke when I tried to cut a cable with them.
For small fine stranded conductors in panels, I have a set of Bahco (now owned by SnapOn I believe) thin nosed pliers.
Three notches for stripping, and two sections for crimping bootlace ferrules.
Anything else, I just use good quality and sharp side cutters.

I'd go for strippers every day, wire and cable are just plain boring! Definitely get yourself a stripper! (Failing that Id use ck crops)

Also good for cutting strands of cable armour, although I try to restrict their use to copper.
