Have just been and looked at a property as friends of mine a buying it it is a large industrial unit with an incomming supply cable around the 240 mm well was , 6 70mm cables 4 185mm smallest cable is a 6mm when added up there was about 1000 meters of armour and its all been nicked , the scaryiest thing is it was hacked off with a hacksaw when still live the main consumer unit had the cables hacked off within the board and loads of black marks over the terminals when it shorted unbeliveable they were not killed when they were doing it all the cables were 3 phase with main fuses of 400 amps ,all the ceilings have been ripped down and damaged beyond repair from what was a perfectly good building to a wreck estimates for repair is around £40.000 and £140,000 for repair of the rest of the damagethats just for the electrical side shame they were not killed thats all i can say

unreal, what gets mme is that if you or me did the same thing we would be fried?? its only a matter of time before some poor innocent gets caught up in the theft of a cable. it nearly happened not too far from use with those houses that were wrecked and i can only say thanks god no one was killed how i dont know but thankfully no one was. how long will it be before some poor kid touches the end of a cable that some scum has ripped out. some very hard sentences please. btw not just in the prison, i want them when they have been sent down to have to go out and manually dig trenches for mains cable every day on some big site and i mean by hand with a spade, pop the money saved back into society where it needs to be.

Totally agree Phil or better still sent out to afganistan to search for IED's ,they'd soon stop it , then you'd get the do gooders saying its against their human rights ................send them out to

Last week there was theft in Nottinghamshire of 2kM of 11KV O/H line. The shear logistic of the operation boggles the mind. Apparently the line went over a river so they had inflatables in place.

I’m just imagining the scene at Joe’s scrap yard as wagon after wagon shows up with the copper. It’s got to be going direct to the smelters.

I think its someware in the region of 11KA through this man....instantly turning him into some kind of beef jerk ....or something like that....doubt he had any footware on.....good earthing arrangements see..........
