Hi all,

Just a quick question,

In a ring curcuit in a kitchen with high powered appliances for example, would the cable get warmer where the appliances were plugged in? Like if they was all plugged in a
Certain area would thst area be warmer than the rest of the run or would the current draw warm up the whole cable equally?

Cheers
Deano

cable should warm up evenly. if there are hotspots close to outlets, that would suggest a poor connection.

If the heat is localised it's more than likely a bad connection

It would also depend on how the RFC is wired, they should be wired im such a way that the current is balanaced down each leg to each point of use. Alot of people will pull a cable to the nearest point and then futhest point then just link them along the way which can cause it too happen also.
