Cables in Cellotex

Hi

I have to install some Lighting cables in a roof void with good acess.

The Client wants downlighters installed in each bedroom ( 4 per room) The roof void has three sheets of 50mm cellotex installed on the plaster board.

The plan was to cut squares out of the first two layers of cellotex to allow installation of the Down Light and Leave the Third layer covering the hole. Still using Fire rated MR16 downlighters.

The Roof Void has Bats ( and they to continue to live in the Roof Void Local Authority Protection)

So the Cabling needs protection from the Bats ( Droppings etc) Was wondering about just laying the Lighting Cables between the Cellotex Layers but should I put in plastic Conduit as well or put the Cables in Plastic Conduit on the Top Layer ( exposed to the Bats)

Thanks in advance

Do not allow the PVC cable insulation to come in contact with the cellotex, because the cellotex will cause the PVC plasticiser to leach from the cable insulation and melt/fuse the cable into the cellotex in much the same way it does in contact with polystyrene.
