Hello peeps, just looking for clarification on my practices here .
In the past , I have taken many cables through the same hole drilled in a joist . Mostly lighting and smoke detector cables , not heavily loaded ones , but on site , time is sometimes critical.
Have I followed " normal practice " here , or have I committed a serious bad practice?
Thanks in advance for honest replies .

Draw new one in very slowly if it's getting a bit close. You can build up heat and melt insulation off the fixed cable quite easily.
and a squirt of washing up liquid helps prevent damage. also you will have the benefit of clean cables.
