Hi guys, I have recently purchased a brand new Megger MFT1700 (decent bit of kit by the way). I was wondering if anyone knows if it comes with a years calibration from the manufacturer or weather I need to get it done.

Thanks in advance.

There should be a cal cert including results in your pack, check to make sure it has the latest software as well. I send mine to megger every year, great service and any updates get done as well.

Legally it has to be calibrated from new.

To be honest, under Sale of Goods Act you could quite reasonably complain if it went out of calibration within about 5 years of purchase... Of course the only way you'd know was when you paid for your annual calibration check!

On the megger calibration cert there is a little box you have to fill date of commission in the cert is valid from then register it on there site and you get 3 yr warranty so its guaranteed to be in calibration and if you find its not contact megger they will give you a reference you send it back and they check it and issue new cert free I also received 2 sets of leads and croc clips and new 2 mm probe attachments that dint come with original purchase
