Sort of unrelated I know ! But I tried out " Grant and Stone " ( not sure if they are just local to Bucks , mind ? ) last week , and found them very helpful and on average 10% cheaper than Eddies .

Just had My Megger MFT done for ÂŁ41 inc ÂŁ16 collection and delivery 3 day turn around UKAS cert 3 pages TESTERMANS can find them on EBAY or shop DIRECT they will Give you a ÂŁ10 Voucher of next years cal cheaper of ebay should Have been ÂŁ35 Plus ÂŁ16 P&P

same place as I had it done last year better than Meggers qoute of about ÂŁ100

Well. I quizzed the calibration dudes and they stated that the service was no different to the 3 day turnaround. Still not sure, but I don't possess sufficient knowledge of approved/accredited techniques to know otherwise. The calibration dudes stated that the equipment used to check the accuracy of meters is approved through ukas accreditation under the required lab/climate conditions and is no different to that used during the 3 day process and that any cert issued can be traced back to this accreditation. They were issuing certs that looked no different to my current, original cert. I had a shufty at the gear used and to my mind it looked like a glorified check-box, albeit a sophisticated looking one. Still non the wiser to be honest. The whole malarkey has left me with doubts about any calibration service. How can I be sure that if I use a 3 day turnaround service that my mft would be subject to any better treatment than at a drop in service... Matter of faith/trust I guess. Never did get a reply to my email.

Wonder if Paolo Di Canio does calibration... FTM

Yours but none the wiser,

Rob
