Where do you lot send your meters to get calibrated? And roughly what do you pay?

Usually use a local (ish) calibration service, I drop off and pick up @ÂŁ60 but thinking of using the local wholesaler calibration day as it is closer and still ÂŁ60.
In both cases I think the conservatives will state the acclimatisation time has not been done, but I do not care, it will be correct within an ames ace, precision is not my strong point!

Wholesaler calibration days round here used to run at about ÂŁ25, I worry about the accuracy of their equipment though considering the circumstances.

I was surprised by the wholesaler price, after all the calibrators are saving money by doing loads in one go so should pass the saving on.
Still it is only a small (but good) wholesaler (it was still ÂŁ50 at the larger ones ten miles away)

Exactly!!

Fine if all you want is a sticker on your MFT or whatever!! The certificate itself isn't worth the paper it's written on....

Why pay 60/70 quid to get a duff calibration on your test kit, when you can pay the same to have your test equipment tested correctly by a certified lab!!

Hi Phil
Where about's in Wigan mate, I usually use Testermans about ÂŁ50, they collect and return, you just have to box it up safely lol. On last years cert he gave me a marginal pass on 300mA rcd setting the tester is now 4 -5 yrs old, so may get a second opinion from someone else on its condition regarding the marginal pass. I think it could have been caused by the batteries being low they dont change them. The first time I sent it to them for calibration with New batteries installed Duracell ultra, the year after I had been using it and the batteries were about 10v which is when I usually change them but I am not sure if this affected the result as I know nowt about calibration of test equipment.
Megger did it first time and they provide you with new leads, batteries etc but are expensive at about ÂŁ100 mine was still under warranty so was free, and I had a issue regarding the socket tubes or leads this was when it was new and hadnt been used and was affecting my continuity readings couldnt get a stable reading.

Can't rember, ask Chris, I'd have to dig the last invoice out.

Mine was about ÂŁ700 to buy so I'm funny who I'll just post it too so I don't worry too much about cost

think I paid somewhere around ÂŁ40-50 also get a discount voucher for the year after
Only gripe I have is I think they may have lost my long probe adapter for the Megger Test Probe and theyre about ÂŁ20 for a new one But I cant be certain it was them so didnt bother complaining

Testermans is ÂŁ55 think that is for collection and delivery but check website or contact, but they also advertise on the E bay for ÂŁ41 and also there is a voucher available which when applied reduces it to ÂŁ31

I use Cuthbertson Laird. Think it's about ÂŁ70 plus VAT for my multifunction tester and maybe ÂŁ80 plus VAT for my PAT tester.
