call out charges

Hi guys, about pricing again. What's a reasonable/suitable price for a call out charge?

Charge what you like,whether you'll get called out or not is a different matter!

That's almost the answer an accountant once gave me.

In "Accountant Speak" it's something along the lines of: "The right price is the one that the market will stand".

Anything after 6pm or weekends i charge time and a half.

My first hr on call-outs is £35. I often find the problem within 5-10 mins, then 5 min chat with customer about it and then off I pop. Call-outs are usually due to something stupid that the client has done!

Diesel - £2, labour - £33, the look on their face when they realise their stupidity - priceless!

I’ve only ever done industrial callouts. 4 hours at O/T rate was the minimum + travel + time off in lieu if after 04:00.
