Noticed on the chat box that we have a few divers. Whats your best experiance and how long have you been diving? pole on number of dives made.

Advanced open water, no longer scuba dive. Taught to free dive a few years ago and much prefer that.

Best dive is free diving at Lions Head in the Maldives

AOW with a special in underwater photography. I go with the idea that all dives are great, just some are greater than others!
I only dive when Im abroad and completed my OW and AOW on the island of Koh Tao, Thailand in 2004.
My best dives have been in the Red Sea, swimming above 2 mating Moray eels and my last dive in Dec 2008 was again in the Red Sea. Swam around a large coral and came face to face with a Moray just laying in the rock crevice with its mouth open. Its head must of been about 2ft long!!!!
My worst dives, well, for panic factor have been a shore dive in Majorca, the old Maijorcan men started chucking spears into the water to get the octopi and we had to shoot up a sausage and diving the Zenobia ferry of off Cyprus. Was on a lads holiday that week [18-30]. Went out the night before for a few quiet beers as I had a 7:30 dive start. Walked into the apartment at 6am absolutley battered. KNew it was wrong but still went on the dive.
Due to being dehydrated and boozed up my breathing was irregular to say the least. Run out of air on my safety stop and had to use my mates emergency regulator.

All in all. I still love it!

regular open water diver. Dived in Mexico, Grand Cayman, Hawaii, Egypt. By far I would have to say the best was Egypt Red Sea. The best water I have ever dived in.

Been diving since 93 and started in Cyprus. Have done quite a bit on the south coast of England as well as Hawaii, Dominican Republic, Furtaventura (??), some COLD stuff in Canada. Not done much for a couple of years, but made it to a good BSAC Sports diver standard.

Ah the Zenobia. Great dive, I have been diving 25+ years so had the pleasure of an internal tour amazing. also taken to the shop LOL. the spot at 42 meters just below the decom line. Yep just were all the goodies fall from the not quite so good divers who are decompessing,

But the redsea fantastic liveaboard is a must follewed up by a couple of dives on the Thistlegorm. Brill dive with loads to sea.

Have my own RIB so dive in the UK allot but still love it ;)

Havent managed the Thistlegorm yet Andy. Its deffo on my to do list! Trouble is, as a part time diver I cant justify all that money on dive gear for a few dives a year. I cant exactly see me launhing a RIB in my local park and although Im only 3min from the Thames dont actually fancy diving that either!:(
Id love to be able to see my days out as a dive instructor living on the Red Sea.........

Dive the Thames? Id rather don mask and snorkel and dive my toilet after a night on the razz!!!
As for seeing my days out,...Im only 30 so still young....Although I need a job to start paying for other things needed first!:(

Just found this thread!!

I have to say the best dives I have ever done were off the coast of Borneo around an Island called the Sipidan I think (long time ago). Got my Dive Instructor cert in Australia and spent a year teaching there on the barrier reef.. very beautiful! I haven't dived for years now but miss the feeling of being 30 meters under the water, its very peaceful..... apart from when your surrounded by about a dozen sharks, but they were friendly enough and didn't even nudge me :)

Does anyone on the site dive? Anywhere in this country any good?
