Discuss can a consumer unit switch be replaced by an RCD? in the DIY Electrical Advice area at ElectriciansForums.net

How long were they there for.
The earthing system can generally only be verified by accessing the service head, they say they didn't access it.
Probably 40 mins or so, I think they did go into the basement where the service head is, but I didnt follow them so I don't know what they did
 
Forty minutes is no where near enough time to carry out an EICR even a small flat which explains why so many tests were not carried out.
 
Did they quote for a new consumer unit?
this looks Lazy, guy turns up has a look around.
sees no rcd so therefore decides it is going to be marked unsatisfactory anyway.
therefore why bother to go to all the trouble of testing stuff.

pulls a couple of cables from consumer unit, and measures resistance because the 2 circuits in question are easy, decides the rest is not worth his time.

about as much professionalism and attention to detail as a Friday night Donner Kebab.

and what is an 80% visual inspection of a consumer unit? I had a quick look but couldn't be arsed to look at it in any detail!!?
