Can anyone explain this - strange wiring?

Please can someone help to explain this

There seems to be 3 lots of live/neutral/earth. I saw this when I removed the old chandelier.
Problem is, it seems that the three neutrals were not connected to anything and of the three lives, 2 were connected to live and 1 to neutral?!

Is this valid or should I rewire it so that the three lives connect to live and the three neutrals connect to neutral.

Please help urgently!

Sorry. I got it mixed up.... The three loves were not connected to anything and of the three neutrals, 2 were connected to neutral and 1 to live

That is normal three plate wiring but there should be an earth to the fitting. One of the blues which is sleeved brown is the line switch return.

Hi,are you absolutely sure,this wiring is getting your full attention?

As above this wiring is dangerous as the Class I fitting is not earthed. Other than that, as also stated, it is a very straightforward 3-plate setup.

It's quite obviously not if you look at the photo.

Did you post the correct photo? I don’t see any strange wiring, just normal standard wiring with a missing earth.

Seen stranger wiring, nothing wrong except the cpc (earth wires are not connected to the fitting)

Three plate connections would appear strange to a novice where an apparent neutral is used for the switch line return.

We can't even criticise whoever wired the place for not identifying the switch live with brown! Pretty much perfect loop at ceiling standard.

The three loves were not connected to anything

the the lives are clearly connected to each other. They are permanent live. The switch live is connected to the light fitting so that it's not on permanently.
But agree with all previous posts, whoever replaced that light fitting didn't earth it and should have.
