Discuss can anyone recommended a good multimeter? in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net

besides the megger dmm look like a cheap Chinese knockoff compared to other brands like fluke, agililent etc

Been looking for a new meter myself seen as my current ones starting to show its age, the fluke 117 caught my eye but after looking into it they are made in China and not the US so started looking at the fluke 177 seen as the 170 series are yank made but while I was looking I came across the megger AVO410 which is a good bit cheaper than the 170 but I've never seen many lads on the tools use them

Also fluke **** me off, the charge top whack for their meters then you have to buy decent leads and a case separately, if you end up getting either of the flukes let me know how you get on with it mate I won't be replacing mine for another month or two had to make some other expensive purchases recently

have a look at eevblog review on youtube.

the 117 etc are made very very well, the guy has teared them apart and covers all the advantages and faults.
