I did. Depends on your situation . In my role I could make it so I did the right jobs. Your employer is usually happy to help. Get in touch with your chosen training provider and discuss your situation with them.

When I did it, I was in a maintenance role but my employer let me change a small 2 way DB in a room, added some dado trunking and added an FCU to the board in FP. It wasn't strictly needed, but my employer let me do it so I could use it as evidence. It was a cheap exercise on their part, provided me enough evidence and got an old board replaced in the site.

I discussed my proposal all with my training provider beforehand.i can say choosing the right provider helps. One of them wasn't too keen on having me but another had more...
