Hello only me again...

Got bathroom coming up and customer wants to try and limit the number of switches / isolators.

Ne ed a switch for lights, DP switch for fan and also need FCU for towel rail....

Was thinking a 4 gang grid set up would be nice, but am I allowed to have 2 different circuits in there, lights and FCU on the ring ?

Thank u,

Sy

Sorry wasnt to clear.... they just want the fan on an on/off switch next to light switch (there's no overun, so just L+N double pole will do).... as opposed to usual come on with the lights and isolator over the door, didnt explain it very well first time round

You can do that only if fan and switches are outside zone 2 unless the fan is low voltage.

Having separate circuits in one switch box is ok as long you don't mix the wires up by taking power from one circuit to the other

Could you not use the ring circuit to power the light and fan in the bathroom(fused down at the switch) then there is only 1 circuit in the switch.

surely you can feed off the lighting circuit for both light and fan, link lives on 2 gang switch, one switch for each

Page 65 onsite guide.
If there is a window, no isolator required for fan.
I know, I know, its a silly one and too be honest, I always put an isolator.
Sythai, why not put a motion sensor activated fan. That way, it works without the need for lights to be switched on and you can adjust the time.
I have fitted these at a few places and they look smart as well.
Best regards,
Sav
