We have a 20 year old MK consumer unit with an RCD section covering 5 MCBs. It has several circuits which are not covered by RCD protection so my question is... would there be enough height inside the CU o accommodate RCBOs to cover the circuits in No's 1, 2 & 3 ways which have simple MCBs ?

I don’t think there are any RCBO’s for that board.

I think all MK RCBOs are the taller type. I’ve got a couple in my spares, but don’t know if they fit your board… although I believe these fit both the single tab and forked bus bars.

The right hand side one is marked “sentry” to fit the mk sentry boards.

Of course, they will not be the newer type A RCBO.

Due to rarity, or maybe never existing in the first place…. It could be cheaper for an electrician to fit a replacement board.

If you needed one or two it might be worth faffing about but like said above I'd just swap the whole thing out for something modern, better, and better supported going forwards.

Or take your chances with what certain online mcb retailers may have pulled out of skips or from the bottoms of lakes this week.
