can my house take it?

before i get stared ide like to say im not an electrician so i dont really know anything about electricity

my query is i was looking at buying this welder P\Tica 151 Portable Arc Welder | Northern Tool + Equipment on the website it says it runs of a 16a mains fuse how can i find out if my house can take this will it be on my fuse box if so where please please help me

To ask again what relevance does any of this pose to someone who we already know is unskilled. The correct and ethical thing to do was refer the op to a qualified competent electrician, and yes the solutions are all valid and I am in agreement with them, however It's for the installer to make these calls

If we were to all go by your last statement then there is probably no point in having this forum at all, we were only discussing whether or not the install could be done.

Hey mate power is only 2.5kw so only roughly 10A, you will probably be ok on a 13a plugtop, most little welders are, only issue may be tripping on startup if you have mcbs if you have cartridge fuses or rewirables then it will definately be fine, with welders you will only use that power if you are welding thick steel for extended periods really, i have a welder thats bigger then that (185A) and its never blown the 13A fuse in the plugtop. It never blows the B type MCB either although my mate has one that does occasionally. Give it a try and see before you spend loads of money!
