Was trying to find details on my City & Guilds stuff the other day and came across this by accident:

*** deleted link ***

I am sure some agency's would not check your qualifications, but there surely should be some instant accessible database like when a landlord vets you.

If not, it certainly makes a mockery of 'Part P' and the Government's insistence its all about safety and not just a moneymaking exercise.

Jonny I've taken the link off your post, it is still ongoing and taking orders for fake certs! We cant support that kind of link.

Come now P.M, you cannot possibly think that there are members on here that would take advantage of just such an offer ... can you? I jest ... fake qualifications have been available since just after the dawn of qualifications!

There's a lot of these fake qualification sites that will harvest your personal details to empty your bank account or use your setails for other methods of theft. The link is gone for good and if you go find them using Google I'd suggest you use a sandbox and a browser with good script control.

Really sorry for that Paul M.

Wasn't trying to promote it, just could not believe how easy I found it when looking for 2391, 2344/5 courses.

I think it was only second page on google.

Just tried to enter my 2360 certs in the City & Guilds link and cannot find them!

Hope Cov Technical College hasn't blagged me , and they are fake :)

Seriously though, If you can get them for everything, that's a pretty scary thought....

Jonny dont worry about it. Taken it off due to this thread may pop up under a google search and take them to that site.

C&Gs have their own cert check system I believe. Need to give them your 16 digit rf at the bottom of the cert. Think its 16 anyway???

M, thank you for the advice ... most of my certificates come from the era of paper ... I am not quite old enough for the tablets of stone in which the deeds of the most venerable of this site's members are recorded ... or was it velum; possibly clay.

Absolutely shocking.

Next week I'll be full qualified and a danger not only to myself but also to everyone else.

Was working on a site a few weeks ago, an agency lad that came couldn't even fix a socket. Supposed to have a level one and level two qualification, lasted half a day.

I cant believe that people actually try this.

A distant relative of mine works very high up in the telecoms industry as some sort of director, he moves around alot, my Dad jokes its because it takes about two years for them to find him out! Anyway he went to college and did get a degree, but if you look him up on google somehow mystically he has become "Dr" and gained a PhD......

its cobblers!

It would be interesting to know if it is standard procedure for Agency's to check qualifications that you e-mail them, as you could say anything you want really.

The problem with everything electronic/email is that they can be so easily forged/doctored to suit.

I remember when chip and pin passports were introduced, the encryption procedure was leaked on the net before they came out!

Which then led to scanners being developed which could scan the chip by just walking past you!

Effectively making it easy to forge than the old ones , because it leads people in to a more lax attitude - as if it electronically scans okay it must be okay.

Its the future of everything, I appreciate , but methinks its going to have lots of problems!
