Can you install a 4KWp for £4900

The last 3 canadian solar jobs we did with power one inverters were £6500. Now my mate in Norfolk is advertising the same system from £5000

we're doing the equivalent of canadian solar for around £5,999 all in. Well, I say we are, but that'd be a lie as we're barely installing anything, and the job we had this last week was actually panasonic believe it or not.

We tend to offer a cheap option to avoid being undercut, but mostly end up installing Hyundai, or the jetion full black panels for more like £6500-7000.

I did two surveys today I will not undercut myself on the jobs I will be pricing it right.

Just doing a job now, 3.5Kw ET solar or Canadian, all for £5880 inc Vat. but im only a one man band, quite good money in it for that i thought?

9 years payback with that price, put £7000 + in the spreadsheet and payback is 12yrs, quite a bit of difference if you convincing someone its worth it.

mate 4 kw installs are going for that price so get it while you can lol

Ive just sold a 4KW for £5500, i wasnt going to go below £6K but the guy is 85yrs old and wants a quick return or not worth it. Then i got email from solmeone selling a 4KW jetion kit for £3K so bit the bullet and called him back and he signed for that price, Lower than i thought would ever go but its either make a few quid or dont do any solar at all. Plus feel like im doing an older retired couple bit of a favour. Its a bungalow and concerete tiles too which makes it easier to drop price a bit.

It's hard to know where to draw the line ... I'm going into hibernation over the winter, that should cut my costs a bit!
