Hi,

A few will remember a thread in December where a sparky had done some work at my parents house had done a lousy job.

He had SWA going straight in to the main board unsupported, two strands of the steel were in a terminal block and went to the earth bar. This is two core wire, the sole CPC is two strands of steel, these two strands of steel were the only thing supporting the SWA.

I kicked off and was assured the issue was fixed.

Went back this weekend and this is what I saw.

So what are the thoughts of the forum?

(Going back next weekend with my tester, circuit is off until then.)

Banjo requires nut and bolting and a bit of cpc to the earth bar, few cleats to support it if it isn't supported. Maybe a shroud would have been a nice touch to hide the poor arrangement of the strands also!

Did the guy that did it notify and cert the job? I assume so as this was reason number n that you gave.

Tel IP4X is top surface only mate.

As for the OP not doing the work himself, I don't think it's for us to judge. Although someone wise once said to me that the more complicated you make the lie the more likely it is to be found out so I'd have probably just listed the 1 reason haha.

Also working as an engineer what would you learn from a simple swa job?

Thats not a dig, just curious as I wouldn't make a point of going to observe a simple swa jobby
