Car park Lighting problems..

Was putting the big disco car park fittings and the igniter is mounted in fitting at top, isit normal to add capacitor and ballast and bottom of post? Any lights I've done before it's all been built into fitting.

is this normal to come out Of Lucy with live into ballast (bare unit ) mounted in post. Then through capacitor which there is two which are wired in parallel then into igniter then off to lamp

usually across the ballast terminals.

No not unusual what you are doing and there's normally a diagram on the ballast showing capacitor and lamp wiring.

A lot of the older high way lights have the ballast and capacitor in the bottom of the post, Probably due to the size of them :shades_smile:

Well yes they 600w and there is smaller fittings at 400w where the ballast was fitted on fitting.. Just hassle ...

double access doors & 2 back boards then ?

if not youve no chance of gettin 3 phase cut-out & 600w lamp gear on 1 back board.

Aye will be tight like.. .. 3phase cut out ,115mm Wide ballast and pack of 2 capacitors..
