Caravans

Caravans are not classed as buildings and as such do not come under the scope of Part P..

But does a new caravan have to be supplied with a full electrical Installation certificate.

Some caravan sites require periodics but I have seen no mention of an Installation certificate.

Any help or advice much appreciated.

It is however a special location and looking at the headings on page 164 section 721 is described as Electrical Installations in caravans and motor caravans from that I would think that yes you would otherwise how do you prove what you have done or not done if things go wrong.


I would be interested in other peoples ideas.

Save the question Burn the caravans they r a pain in the nutz going up the A82 lochside n stuck behind some numpty in towing his 32ft supadoopa double axle fandango caravan with his Morris marina left to him by his 90yr old father

guess wot guys n girls I dont like caravans lol

answer to the question section covers caravans if anything Id probably treat them the same as Porta cabins temp instalations as they are moved and sujected to vibration ect
