Carpenter's argument at college.

So to keep this short, this guy decided to present to me how he can do an electricians job with little training, earn more than any electrical firm in a day, to save me ranting on, i'm just gonna post some of what he said word for word ( i felt like introducing him to my jab hand at the end of his childish rant )

made £650 today ( doing flat roofing for 2 hours)
he made £7200 last week ( his dad)
easy peasy money, money you will never make

you're going to make millions doing PAT testing
£1 a plug, have fun doing that

you're trying to say you can make more £££ but you cant

i could go on site, or into a house and fit most things <<< LOL

carpentry takes much more skill than electrics

i bet i could do you job with a bit of training, everybody knows electrics is big on the theory side

thereis not not skill in electrics - stripping wires... wow

they cause house fires

they dont SAVE lives

there is no handskill involved in what you do.

I have the upmost respect for any tradesman, (probably not plumbers Joking...)

But that guy is a real horrible guy. got me so worked up today i felt like risking the college to see him shutup.
Apparently chippys are god's personal servants directly distributed from heaven's gates themselves.

Just igonre him. I find a little chuckle and a disinterested 'oh really?' at everything that sort say normally has them picking on someone else quite quickly.

Why do you have to deal with him? Surely you're on different courses, or do they just chuck you all in one class nowadays?

He's just around the same block in college so when i finish he finishes etc. I really do feel like waiting one day when he wonders out of college but i shouldn't let him get to me.

Had the same thing with a M8 of mine, when I say M8 this was at secondary school since leaving and going to work with his dads air con company he's turned into a complete ........ same as your new friend, he's been kicked off more sites than he's had hot dinners, fiddles the time sheet and diddles his dad out of overtime goes on jollies with other guys from work on work days. Bad mouths every trade going. I did have the slight satisfaction of when working in their Unit and he proudly tells me that there is nothing much to electrics and a trained chimp could do it then he turns round and proceeds to cut through a live cable and fell off the ladder feel really bad for the future of his dads company and the guys he employes

ask him is he able to work out voltage drop or does heknow current carrying capacities of cable, any fool can fit socket etc but i bet he couldnt test or connect a modern heating system with motorised valves.

Well godforbid he'd badmouth electrics and karma would bite him on his ---

I get so frustrated with it, before i started to take a full insight into electrics i used to hear about the cowboys who rip off families and elderly etc and never really felt any related anger, but now i'm actually carrying out work and training, things like that and people like your work accomplice really do get me so angry, fortunately not to the point of carrying out any physical redemption. Hopefully they will have no future in any trade.

The problem with morons like this is that if you do trip them up with an intelligent quip they just start chimping out.

The great shame is that a good chippy is a massively skilled person, just like a good plumber is, well, about as smart as a jar of jam but you know what I mean. There are a million morons-with-a-saw for every one decent carpenter, though.

thats because jc was a chippie apparently,all he has to do is cut a few bits of wood and nail them toghether so who is the chimp,we are not just electricians we are the 5th emergency service,providing a safe way to use something that is potentialy lethal,without us highly trained professionals,how many people out there would get zapped,we are well underated as a trade,must be a divvy not to be a sparks as its the most complex of all trades i believe and the most important too.ps you could kick him in the ghoulies as that hurts more,hence no facial bruising cool no one will know,lol only kidding,he who laughs last laughs longest,he will get his comeupance
