So to keep this short, this guy decided to present to me how he can do an electricians job with little training, earn more than any electrical firm in a day, to save me ranting on, i'm just gonna post some of what he said word for word ( i felt like introducing him to my jab hand at the end of his childish rant )

"

made ÂŁ650 today ( doing flat roofing for 2 hours)
he made ÂŁ7200 last week ( his dad)
easy peasy money, money you will never make

you're going to make millions doing PAT testing
ÂŁ1 a plug, have fun doing that

you're trying to say you can make more ÂŁÂŁÂŁ but you cant

i could go on site, or into a house and fit most things <<< LOL

carpentry takes much more skill than electrics

i bet i could do you job with a bit of training, everybody knows electrics is big on the theory side

thereis not not skill in electrics - stripping wires... wow

they cause house fires

they dont SAVE lives

there is no handskill involved in what you do.

What a royal !@"ÂŁ

I have to deal with him in college ! How childish is this man! He is 18 also.

Let me know if you want more, LOL.

Some more added.

Next time he bangs on about how much he has earnt, just say....

'Great, soon you'll have enough money to buy a personality'

Might be a bit over his head though

If you want to play a semi-nasty practical joke, if he drives to college, nip out and cover all his windows with Vaseline (or that cheap sort you get from Poundland) the only thing that will get it off is petrol, and its a
B%$&ARD of a job to do.

:D

it must be something about chippy's, my next door neighbour is one and he thinks he nows it all about electrics, 'all you need to test is a plug tester he says!' until he had a N-E fault and couldnt figure out why his rcd was tripping when all his breakers were off, and he came knocking on MY door, so much for it being a piece of **** eh,
admittedly you could prbably teach a monkey to clip some cables to a wall and screw a few back boxes on too and if you find a clever one you may even get them in zone, but these are the sort of monkeys who put a 10KW shower on a 4mm cable and stick a 45a mcb because it trips out when you turn on the shower with anything less

My Dad's a chippy, but he's been in the game for 45+ years so maybe they mellow with age. He's alright figuring out timber sizes for roofs but when he saw some of my cable calcs from college he soon gave up!

The good chippys are the ones who know their limits.;)

The problem is with this is that i bet you're dad is a genuinely good guy, but it's guys i have to deal with ( and many others) that people stereotype the whole lot!

thats because jc was a chippie apparently, all he has to do is cut a few bits of wood and nail them toghether so who is the chimp,we are not just electricians we are the 5th emergency service!!!!!!!!!,providing a safe way to use something that is potentialy lethal, without us highly trained professionals, how many people out there would get zapped,we are well underated as a trade, must be a divvy not to be a sparks as its the most complex of all trades i believe and the most important too.ps you could kick him in the ghoulies as that hurts more, hence no facial bruising cool no one will know, lol only kidding,he who laughs last laughs longest,he will get his comeupance

I agree with most of what you say above but There are a ;ot of trades FAR more complex than an Electrician... Examples.... Ailine pilot ,Nuclear physisist, Surgeon,microbiologist..the list goes on..

Sorry to be a wet blanket but " 5th emergancy service" is a bit pretentius

I agree with the 5th emergency service too, i mean, we save lives indirectly on a day to day basis. I think electricians are deeply underrated.

Granted, they aren't as complex as Surgeon etc, but they don't NEED to be that complex, i'm sure he was talking purely about building trades.

While i agree with you that this fella is childish and there is no need for him to talk such utter rubish i also think that you will need to learn to ignor him. If you continue to work in the trade you will meet plenty of others like him and worse. Dont let them get to you, in alot of cases its down to them being jealous. Rise above it and be the bigger man.

just ask him to meggar a circuit, hand him the leads (set on 1000v of course...easy is it -;)

How do you "megger" a circuit??? Thats a meaningless expression but I do agree that he would not have a clue what insulation resistance is let alone how to check it ( 1000volts, must be 3 phase then?? )

Just hold these 2 wires for me mate......... ZAPP..:D

The answer should have been well we can do hair dressing too hold these , what a numpty , ye any one can do electrics , look at the picture on my post CSA tails , must have been a joiner lol sorry joiners cheap joke

I'm new to this game, can you get 3-phase dc -;)

I've got a fault on circuit....have you meggered it out?

generic term granted
