We had a customer pay half of a largish contract with a big envelope full of notes. The bank wants to charge us to pay it in sparking a ridiculous conversation about what the hell we do with it!

A customer paid us 10g in cash and it cost us £100 to pay it in. We also had to explain how and where we came by it to comply with money laundering regs.

More of a pain but we always pay large amounts in over a couple of days just safes all the hassle

I won't pay cash deposit fees out of principle.There used to be a workaround where I could dump the cash into my homeloan without charges and then electronic transfer it into my business account also without charges, needless to say it made the accounting messy and they closed this loophole a while ago so now we just use large cash payments to pay suppliers etc
